Do you have questions about navigating UGA’s financial resources, including the Bursar, Financial Aid, Support Funds, and other units assisting students with financial questions? Student Care and Outreach can help guide you to campus resources that can assist. Please contact our office at sco@uga.edu or 706-542-8479 with any questions.
We understand the impact financial barriers can have on a student’s overall well-being. Student Care and Outreach (SCO) serves as the starting point for connecting students with individualized support and resources, which includes applying to available funding for emergency and/or temporary financial assistance.
Funding is not intended for tuition and fees, or to replace funding related to an assistantship. Support funds are intended to address specific temporary circumstances students may be facing such as:
Please note that all requests will not be approved. Due to the limited nature of funding, some requests may only be approved for a portion of the total amount requested.
Generally, students are eligible for one award per year.
If you believe you are experiencing extenuating circumstances, we encourage you to connect directly with our office at sco@uga.edu or 706-542-8479.
If students are in need of more long-term financial support, or if the student’s circumstances may be ongoing, SCO encourages them to consult with the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) to discuss their situation. Changes to students’ financial circumstances may qualify for a reconsideration of their current financial aid package at UGA.
Funding is made possible by the support of the Office of the President, the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Office of Student Financial Aid, the Parents Leadership Council, the Deans within specific schools and colleges, and generous private donors.
