    Event Location: The Fontaine Center, 55 Carlton Street, Athens, GA

    The Fontaine Center is excited to announce our first Shark Tank series! We want to work with you and need your input. 

    Students and student organizations across campus will be given the opportunity to share their ideas and expand programs in one or more of the following content areas: (1) Alcohol and other drug prevention, (2) Interpersonal/dating violence prevention, (3) Nutrition, or (4) Healthy relationships and sexual health. 

    Chosen pitches will be eligible for funding to support their ideas! 

    How to apply and pitch to the Shark Tank

    1. Students/student organizations will submit an application by September 30th, 2023! 

    2. Chosen pitches will be contacted to schedule their pitches!

  • Toccoa River Overnight Paddle

    Looking for a beginning of the semester get away? Not ready for the semester to kick in yet? Come on this 2.5 mile hike and get into some fresh north Georgia water. The clear blue water leads to a swimmable pond below, so be sure to bring a swimsuit!

  • Roan Highlands Backpacking

    Event Location: Departs from Ramsey Student Center

    Join the ORC as we backpack a scenic section of the Appalachian Trail, stretching through Carver's Gap and the Roan Highlands in Tennessee. This region is a personal favorite amongst many of our trip leaders! The trail is filled with lots of wildlife and vegetation and offers 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains. Moderate terrain and slow inclines make up the trail, making this a perfect trip for people of all skill levels and hiking experience. Participants will also get to learn many different outdoor skills such as water purification, fire building, and back country cooking. We look forward to experiencing this trip and hope to see you outside!

  • Devil's Fork Waterfall Hunting

    Event Location: Departs from Ramsey Student Center

    Join the ORC on an overnight kayaking trip to the gorgeous Lake Jocassee and go waterfall hunting! This trip will include up-close views of multiple falls, including Laurel Fork Falls, an 80 foot waterfall best seen by boat. We will paddle in between massive rock crags to observe the full length of the falls. Whether you are an experienced paddler or a neophyte, this trip is sure to leave you breathless.

  • Vertical Caving Overnight

    Join the ORC and take advantage of the opportunity to explore a vertical cave! Learn how to rappel with us during the pre-trip meeting, so that you can descend into the depths of an amazing cave. No prior knowledge necessary. You will explore caverns and marvel at the incredible cave formations on the walls, floors and ceilings. The pre-trip meeting is mandatory.
